Unit is inserted into soil and senses when to water the plants automatically when the soil is dry. Soil sensor measures electric current flowing between 3 metal pins on the probe and converts the signal to moisure level. Measures in 4 levels 1 being dry and 4 being wet. Operates on 2 AAA batteries (not included).
